THE ROLE

Under the guidance of the PSP Policy National Recreation Manager, the National Recreation Coordinator supports the development, coordination, and implementation of national recreation programs, policies, and resources. The Coordinator is responsible for drafting, preparing, and formatting a wide range of documents-including briefing notes, reports, presentations, resource materials, and policy updates-for review and approval.

They assist in the publication, distribution, and maintenance of national policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines related to recreation programs and services. The Coordinator acts as a central point of contact for the field, coordinating requests, facilitating implementation activities, and helping ensure consistent application of national directives across all bases and wings.

The role includes gathering, organizing, and compiling information in response to research and interpretation inquiries from internal stakeholders. The Coordinator consolidates data, conducts preliminary analysis, and provides recommendations or options where appropriate.

Additionally, the National Recreation Coordinator supports the planning and execution of national training sessions, workshops, and meetings. This includes coordinating logistics, preparing supporting materials, managing distribution lists, and ensuring timely communication and follow‑up with participants and stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Leisure Services, Recreation a related field AND several years experience in sports and recreation administration or a related field

HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport HIGH FIVE
Healthy Minds for Healthy Children

Experience

In planning, organizing, and coordinating the operations and delivery of recreation
services, programs and specialty interest activities
In coordinating workshops, symposiums, and clinics
In planning and conducting presentations, workshops and briefing sessions
In developing and implementing recreation policies and operating procedures
In preparing surveys, conducting needs assessments and evaluating results
In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
In personnel administration

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
