THE ROLEThe Mental Performance Coach - CANSOFCOM will coordinate, prepare, and deliver mental performance coaching and training programs. They will collaborate and have the opportunity to lead the development and delivery of mental performance workshops and educational briefs adapted to meet the needs of the client's performance environment as indicated by the local chain of command, Mental Performance Specialist, and/or Human Performance Manager.
The Mental Performance Coach - CANSOFCOM will provide individual and group coaching/consultation services and maintain a record of services delivered to include, but not limited to, attendance, knowledge and mental performance skill evaluation, and individual client case notes.
The Mental Performance Coach - CANSOFCOM will work as a part of a multi-disciplinary support team in collaboration with human performance, health, and medical resources and refers clients, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
Master’s degree in Sports Psychology, Kinesiology, Health Studies or a related field
AND some years of experience in Mental Performance coaching
AND
Current Canadian Sports Psychology Association (CSPA) Member
Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
Experience
In planning, researching and conducting/delivering mental training courses/programs,
workshops, presentations and specialized clinics
In evaluating mental performance training sessions/programs
In assisting with the delivery of mental performance skills assessments
In assisting with the development of reports
In assisting with the delivery of presenting reports and findings
In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTSEnglish Essential. Bilingual (English and French) an asset
