THE ROLE

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a key role in protecting the organization’s information systems and infrastructure. This position focuses on security incident response, monitoring, and vulnerability management to ensure timely detection, analysis, and remediation of threats.

You will support efforts to maintain strong security controls across diverse technologies and environments. Your responsibilities include:

  • Security Incident Response: Assist in investigating, containing, and remediating security incidents, coordinating with internal teams to minimize impact and prevent recurrence.
  • SOC Monitoring: Monitor alerts from SIEM and EDR platforms, perform initial triage, and escalate as needed according to established procedures.
  • Vulnerability Management: Review vulnerability scan results, validate findings, and track remediation efforts to reduce risk exposure.
  • Monitor network and system activity for anomalies and indicators of compromise.
  • Document findings and maintain accurate records of incidents and actions taken.
  • Contribute to improvements in detection and response processes by suggesting tuning and automation opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.)

Certifications such as Security+ or equivalent are considered an asset.

Experience

2+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, SOC, or related role.

Familiarity with SIEM and EDR concepts and vulnerability scanning tools.

Solid understanding of networking, operating systems, and common attack techniques.

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Clear communication skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency with common productivity tools (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, email).

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English or French Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.

This position is a one-year term.

The selection process will be done virtually.

You may be eligible to receive a Scarce Skills Premium for this position as outlined in the attached IT Scarce Skills Compensation Agreement.
