THE ROLE

The Hospitality Supervisor assists with the planning, organizing, staffing, and supervising of daily operations of the Mess and Snack Bar hospitality services and events. They supervise and train employees, prepare work schedules and input hours into the applicable payroll program. In addition, they take and prepare food and beverage orders, operate a point of sale (POS) system, and procure alcohol, food and bar supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

High school diploma AND several years of experience in hospitality, food and beverage service industry, or a related field

Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in Ontario

Must possess a Provincial Responsible Service of Alcohol certification

Must possess a Safe Food Handling certification

Valid driver’s license (ON), an asset

Experience

In safe food handling practices and procedures

In applying policies, procedures and regulations

In cooking, and food preparation techniques, methods and procedures

In personnel administration

In food and beverage preparation

In budget administration

In cash handling

In preparing bank deposits and floats

In inventory control

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

Bilingual (English and French) Essential

OTHER INFORMATION

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

Perform heavy lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 50 lbs/23 kg).

This Category I unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the PSAC bargaining unit for NPF Category I employees at CFB Kingston.
