As part of a dynamic and dedicated team as the Fitness and Sports Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage two important portfolios for a very highly motivated and professional clientele.
As part of the Fitness portfolio, you will lead a team of fitness professionals while planning, organizing, and managing the delivery of a comprehensive physical fitness program that meets the needs of the military community at that location. You will be required to work daily with military members to ensure successful programming delivery that ensures operational readiness of its members.
As part of the Sports portfolio, your competencies will be used towards the planning and the management of the operations and delivery of comprehensive sports programs including its marketing, from participation to high performance levels. This can include but not limited to intramural sports and competitive representative sports teams that compete at national and/or international levels. You will be required to develop and tailor sports programs to ensure that members of the Canadian Armed Forces can safely and effectively perform their duties in operations, while strengthening their physical, social and mental wellbeing.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Sports Administration, Recreation Management, or a related field
Experience
In planning, managing, controlling and evaluating the operations and delivery of physical fitness, sports, aquatics and water safety programs
In strategic business and financial planning
In budget administration
In project management
In personnel administration
In group facilitation, training and team building
In marketing fitness and sports programs including the use of social media
In managing facilities and arena operations
In writing, interpreting and applying policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislations
In inventory control and loss prevention In collecting, analyzing and reporting data for the purpose of program evaluations
In preparing and conducting physical fitness training sessions
In delivery of physical fitness evaluations
In leading and instructing physical fitness training sessions
In preparing and administrating tournaments and sporting events
In officiating and coaching sporting events and/or athletic competitions

OTHER INFORMATIONSuccessful completion of the Coaching Association of Canada-Multi-Sports modules requirement set by the Canadian Armed Forces Sports Office (HQ), by the end of probation period, as required.
