THE ROLE

The Finance Business Partner provides financial services support to the divisional entities within CFMWS. It is all about enabling your clients to make informed decisions. The main goal of a Finance Business Partner is to create an active partnership with both operations and management and provide real time financial support that has an impact.

We have Finance Business Partner roles open in both financial management, and costing/business planning. They prepare financial reports including in-year financial position reports, costing reports, and/or business plan reports. They perform variance analysis on budget vs. actual, initiating adjustments, and presenting various results to management. They develop and recommend solutions for resource funding allocation and management. They use financial software applications and ensure compliance to financial policy and application of departmental and organizational processes and procedures. This role also plays an active to produce the financial statements, business plans, or briefing notes for new business activities. Some roles have supervisory requirements, but all roles oversee the work of others.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline AND several years of experience in accounting, financial management or a related field

AND

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, an asset

Experience

In developing and analyzing financial data, reports and statements

In providing advice and guidance

In interpreting and applying policies, procedures, standards, legislation and regulations

In expenditure and resource management control

In business and strategic planning

In spreadsheet advanced functions

In budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes

In evaluating and optimizing pricing strategies, cost structures and resource allocation

In expenditure and resource management control

In preparing and delivering presentations

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Essential or English Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.

We have four (4) positions available:

Business Planning and Costing - two (2) positions

Financial Planning and Analysis - two (2) positions
