THE ROLE

The Family Liaison Officer will establish contact and provide professional consultation, assessment, assistance and referral to military family members who are coping with illness, injury and/or a special need, act as an advocate on behalf of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) families coping with illness, injury, loss, and/or special needs, as well as conduct one-on-one and/or family interviews to assess their situation and need for assistance.

The Family Liaison Officer will conduct clinical assessment of families of the ill and injured, as well as provide written clinical family assessments in accessing specialized resource and funding support, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, or a related field, AND several years of experience in social work and human services, or a related field.

AND

Must be eligible for registration within their professional designation.

In crisis intervention and risk management
In clinical assessment and counselling services
In working with families and family systems
In working with a multidisciplinary team and human services organizations
In professional networking
In family case management
In response to critical incidents
In developing, coordinating and facilitating workshops
In developing, coordinating and facilitating support groups
In developing and coordinating family service oriented programs
In budget administration

English essential, Bilingual an asset.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Travel may be required, driver’s license is a requirement.
