THE ROLE

Imagine spending all summer with a great group of kids, hanging out at the beach, playing at the splash park and getting creative with arts and crafts - and - getting paid for it!

Imagine letting your inner kid come out, never being bored, while adding great experience to your resume.

We are looking for Day Camp Leaders for children aged kindergarten through 12 years old. Each week will be a new experience with a host of activities including both indoor play and recreation and outside activities. You will get experience in designing recreational programs, teaching and leading individuals and groups while ensuring a healthy and safe environment. Above all, your goal is to help the children have fun, and have fun yourself.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

An acceptable combination of education, training and experience in recreation or education for Child Care Programs or a related field will also be considered.

Diplôme d’aptitude aux fonctions d’animateur (DAFA)

HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development

Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications

Experience of specialized facilitation

Experience

In facilitating in a specialized field

In working with children

In leading children in activities

In ensuring safety protocols and procedures

In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing

Competencies

OTHER INFORMATION

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

PSP: Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs. Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.

Candidates must be available on one of the following dates for an in-person interview:

  • Friday, March 6 from 1PM to 4PM
  • Saturday or Sunday, March 14 or 15 from 8:30 AM to 11:30AM (to be confirmed)

Selected candidates must be available on all the following training dates:

  • May 29 (evening), 30, 31;
  • June 6, 7;
  • June 13, 14;
  • June 20, 21, 22, 23;

As well as at least six (6) of the eight (8) weeks of day camp taking place from June 25 to August 21, 2026.
