We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team in Technical Support.

Summary

This role is a multi-discipline function, encompassing activities related to project and client support. Technical Support personnel report to the Director of Sales and Contracts.

Hours of Work: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday - Thursday), 7:30 AM - 11:30 PM (Friday), 40 Hours Per Week

Responsibilities

Client Support - Technical Support personnel assist clients with the following activities:

  • Determining client needs and communicating these to the rest of the team
  • Responding to client technical questions and RFQ’s
  • Follow up on proposals to ensure client needs have been met and to get competitive feedback
  • Some travel may be involved to meet with clients

Proposal Development – As part of client support Technical Support personnel are actively involved in the proposal development process, including:

  • Review of specifications
  • Assemble proposal teams, assign tasks, and disperse information to team members for assigned bids
  • Learn the design process and take on proposal design tasks as appropriate
  • Interact with clients to resolve questions or conflicts related to RFQ documents
  • Work with sub-vendors to develop pricing
  • Manage the proposal response schedule
  • Assemble commercial/technical bid content and exceptions/clarifications from various team members for compliant bid responses
  • Prepare proposal estimates

Project Support - Technical Support personnel bring the project team up to speed with details of new orders and act as a resource during execution, including:

  • Develop project documentation and take the lead in handing-off new orders to the project team
  • Engage with Engineering and Project Management as needed to ensure clear understanding of project details as the project progresses

Requested skills

Requirements

  • Mechanical engineering degree or diploma preferred
  • Two to Five years’ experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
