Solution Architect

We are looking for a Solution architect (SA) who will report to the Team Lead of Solution Architecture. The SA is responsible for designing, aligning, and governing end-to-end technology solutions supporting manufacturing, engineering, and supply operations across the enterprise. This role ensures that Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Supply Chain/Order-to-Delivery (OTD) platforms are integrated, scalable, and aligned with the organization’s enterprise architecture standards. The Solution Architect acts as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, bridging business and technology, while guiding delivery teams to implement scalable, secure, and innovative enterprise solutions.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Provide an architectural conception of the solution regarding Business, Application, Information and Technology domains via the solution architecture design document.

  • Define target architectures and roadmaps for PLM, MES, ERP, and OTD ecosystems in alignment with enterprise architecture principles.

  • Design end-to-end integration patterns connecting engineering, supply, and manufacturing systems.

  • Collaborate with business process owners in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to translate business requirements into technology solutions.

  • Contribute to building a reference architecture repository for manufacturing and engineering domains.

  • Support process harmonization, standardization, and automation initiatives across plants and global sites.

  • Support system modernization, cloud migration, and integration initiatives for manufacturing and engineering applications.

  • Support multiple programs and projects concurrently, providing architectural oversight from concept through delivery.

  • Lead workshops and presentations with stakeholders to communicate solution options, impacts, and trade-offs.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related study, or equivalent project-related experience.

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in IT, including at least 4 years in solution architecture within manufacturing/engineering contexts.

  • Strong experience with PLM (Teamcenter, Windchill) and MES (SAP, Siemens).

  • Solid understanding of ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA), supply chain, and manufacturing integration flows (OTD, BOM, routing).

  • Familiarity with manufacturing shop-floor systems

  • Knowledge of Agile methodology

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to lay audiences. Some experience of working with board-level stakeholders.

  • Team player with experience leading and collaborating across teams to ensure the successful delivery of solutions

  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills - demonstrating outside-the-box problem-solving skills and ability to develop solution architecture designs

  • Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders outside of Quebec or unilingual English-speaking on a daily basis
