Solicitation Lead

Support the organization on the key processes of international trade compliance by developing, implementing, and monitoring efficient controls and corrective actions to maintain best in practice compliance practices. Lead a team of analysts to distribute the workload for production and for aftermarket parts and accessories, and lead by example with an active role in the suppliers solicitation process to properly declare customs imports and export requirements. Support BRP suppliers solicitation across all regions NA, EMEA, LATAM & APAC. Provide technical information to support government audits and official requests worldwide. Prepare documentation to support strategic decision-making process, among BRP stakeholders but also before authorities in the regulation and definition of the legal framework applicable to our products. YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Define, review and monitor product and material composition provided by our business partner (steel, aluminium, cooper, and other materials declarations in weight and value)

  • Participate in the documentation process to answer requests from customs authorities such as CF28, CF29 from CBP, but also from CBSA, SAT, and worldwide

  • Ensure that everything is done in accordance with the rules and regulations, while doing so at an efficient and fast cadence

  • Prepare technical documentation to support proper declarations, following best in class practices, duty of care, due diligence and demonstrate the “best of knowledge” principle

  • Support the business with all customs transactions, by collecting from suppliers Free Trade Agreements certificates to leverage duty free imports and exports (USMCA, CPTPP, MX-EU, CETA, and other FTAs).

  • Ensure certificates are properly filled in line with customs regulations

  • Collect from suppliers technical data to properly declare imports of sanctioned HTS, and its exemptions

  • Develop meaningful KPIs, statistics and dashboard to support strategic business decisions

  • Contribute innovative ideas for process improvement.

  • Request Mill Certificates, engagement letters, material composition forms, among other required documents

  • Keep systems updated to allow capture benefits up-front at time of importation

  • Conduct solicitation projects to claim back past paid duties with certificates collection after time of import

  • Conduct analysis to identify parts and HTS with the highest impact on duty avoidance benefits

  • Know and master the applicable ROO to challenge and to support suppliers to improve the answer rate

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, Customs or related Topic

  • Knowledge of Customs Laws & Regulations

  • The capability to work in a high-pressure environment

  • High capacity to follow up on tasks

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Excel (complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, etc.)

  • Strong ability to build and manipulate Power BI reports

  • Strong communication skills to deliver key messages to management and to influence people

  • Team Player with a "can-do and will-do" attitude

  • SAP Knowledge

  • Minimum 5 years of Experience in Mexican Customs

  • Languages: French, Spanish & English
