SAP Functional Analyst, FICO – Data & Analytics Integration

As the SAP Functional Analyst, FICO - Data & Analytics Integration, you will serve as the key expert connecting Finance operations with the Data & Analytics organization. Leveraging your deep SAP FICO functional knowledge and understanding of financial processes, you will guide data engineers and analytics teams in interpreting SAP’s technical tables, structures, and fields to enable accurate and efficient data ingestion into Snowflake.

You will work closely with Finance stakeholders to ensure their business needs are fully understood, translated into technical data requirements, and delivered through reliable, well‑modeled financial datasets. Your role will directly enhance the organization’s ability to produce trusted insights, scalable data products, and high‑quality financial reporting.

YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Act as the primary expert on SAP FICO data structures, tables, fields, and financial process flows.

  • Translate finance business processes and reporting needs into clear technical requirements for data engineers.

  • Analyze and document financial data requirements for reporting, planning, and analytical use.

  • Interpret ABAP logic, SAP extract programs, and functional specifications to guide the design of downstream data pipelines and models

  • Identify and extract relevant data from SAP FI/CO, Treasury, Asset Accounting, and related sub-modules, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Support data engineers in ingesting and modeling SAP financial data within Snowflake.

  • Validate financial data using SQL and partner with technical teams to ensure data pipelines are accurate, efficient, and scalable.

  • Partner with data architects to design scalable finance data models in Snowflake.

  • Act as a liaison between Finance, SAP, and Data & Analytics teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.

  • Ensure adherence to data governance, master data standards, and finance data quality rules.

  • Provide training and guidance to Data & Analytics team members and Finance users on accessing and analyzing SAP financial data.

YOU WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP Functional Analyst specializing in FICO across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.

  • Deep expertise in SAP FI and CO modules and strong understanding of end‑to‑end finance processes (GL, AP, AR, AA, CO‑PA, controlling objects, period-end processes, etc.).

  • Strong knowledge of SAP financial data structures, tables, and integration points in both ECC (e.g., BKPF, BSEG, COEP, ANLA) and S/4HANA (e.g., ACDOCA, Universal Journal).

  • Familiarity with ABAP concepts (debugging, data dictionary, extraction logic).

  • Experience translating SAP FICO business processes and reporting needs into technical data requirements for analytics and data engineering teams.

  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data accuracy, integrity, and process efficiency.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex SAP concepts for non-SAP stakeholders.

  • Experience with SQL and familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud data platforms is an asset.

  • Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau is an asset.
