The Project Manager is the focal point between all those involved in the project (promoter, administrators, project stakeholders, etc.) for the delivery of projects. This includes organizations and processes, in order to enable resources from BRP business areas and external partners to be managed.

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Ensure that the project is successfully completed in accordance with the strategic objectives of the organization and/or business unit.
  • Develop and compile the project plan and validate/refine the resource plans.
  • Issue assignment requests for all contributors to the project.
  • Ensure that the requested resources are approved and allocated to their project(s) and issue change requests, if applicable.
  • Complete standard PMO deliverables.
  • Be responsible and accountable for all aspects of project delivery, in line with the scope defined by the promoter, as defined below, including but not limited to:
    - Contributing to updating the business case, prerequisites and project sheet.
    - Managing the scope, schedule, budget, risks, change requests, quality, issues and blockages.
    - Assigning tasks.
    - Managing project interdependencies.
    - Validating invoices from external suppliers.
    - Preparing and submitting reports to the promoter and Steering Committee(s), and providing information to the project office.
    - Presenting the project to various committees.
    - Preparing and presenting to various gating bodies for phase transitions.
    - Coordination and support for the transition to operations (implementation, post-implementation, etc.).
    - Compliance with the processes in place: weekly status in the system, establishment of PCRs for any changes to the project, compliance with the templates in place, etc.
  • Ensuring approval of all key deliverables and that the project office’s project management methodology framework is applied;
  • Supervising all contributors assigned to the project (business analysts, applications manager, integrated solutions architect, colleagues such as HR, communication, etc.) and approving time sheets;
  • Making decisions related to project management and content in consultation with key team members and other stakeholders.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management computing, computer engineering or any other related discipline.
  • Five to seven years of experience in project management.
  • A recognized certification in project management (PMP, ACP, PSM, etc.) would be an asset.
  • Experience in managing manufacturing and/or logistics projects would be an asset
  • Good knowledge of business, operational and corporate processes.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders outside of Quebec or unilingual English-speaking on a daily basis
  • Leadership and influence: the ability to exert a positive influence on collaborators to achieve business and organizational goals.
  • Develops business relationships: establishes and maintains collaborative business relationships both internally and externally.
  • Communicates effectively: expresses ideas clearly, is an active listener and selects appropriate communication techniques for the given context; demonstrates good synthesis skills by understanding how to integrate various elements or information into a unified structure.

  • A team player who works collaboratively with internal and external partners in setting goals and solving problems.
  • Decision-making to assess the levels of importance, urgency and risk of situations within your scope of practise and the ability to make the appropriate decisions.
  • Organizes: establishes priorities for their team of colleagues, develops resource plans, monitors projects and ensures that activities are documented.
  • Plans: defines the activities for their sector, establishes action plans, collaborates in their execution and evaluates the results and work processes.
  • Contributes to the search for solutions: evaluates problematic situations, tries to identify the causes, searches for potential solutions and submits recommendations.
  • Demonstrates leadership: mobilizes and inspires the resources under their responsibility, communicates clear expectations and provides the necessary support for the achievement of individual and organizational objectives within the project.
  • Rigorous: carefully and fully observes the prescribed work procedures and methods in order to ensure a high level of quality and accuracy.
