The Cyber Advisor - Specialist in Data & AI Security provides specialized cybersecurity and governance expertise across BRP’s data analytics program, information management, and AI ecosystems.
This role acts as a trusted partner to the Data Analytics, AI, and Data Governance teams, ensuring that data is securely designed, processed, and managed in alignment with BRP’s Information Security framework, privacy obligations, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOx, NIS2).
The advisor bridges cybersecurity, data governance, and technology architecture, helping to embed security-by-design principles and responsible AI practices across the enterprise.
YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Serve as the primary cybersecurity advisor for all Data, Analytics, and AI initiatives.
Partner with Data Governance and Information Management teams to ensure that policies, data classifications, and lifecycle controls are effectively applied.
Provide security-by-design guidance for data platforms, data lakes, pipelines, and AI/ML environments.
Ensure proper data access, encryption, anonymization, and retention practices are implemented consistently across systems.
Evaluate and strengthen data security controls within Snowflake, Databricks, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, and related platforms.
Review data access models, role-based permissions, and segregation of duties (SoD) for analytics and reporting environments.
Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture and Cloud Security teams to align data architectures with BRP’s cybersecurity standards.
Support TPRM assessments for vendors and platforms handling sensitive or AI-related data.
Participate in the Data Governance Committee, providing cybersecurity insight on classification, privacy, and compliance matters.
Support incident response and forensic investigations for data-related or AI system security events.
Develop and deliver awareness sessions for data and AI teams on secure data management, privacy-by-design, and ethical AI.
Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of BRP’s Data and AI Security Standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years focused on data security, data governance, or AI systems.
Strong understanding of data governance and information management principles (data ownership, lineage, metadata, quality, retention).
Proven expertise with Snowflake and other database or analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure Synapse, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI).
Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (Azure AI, OpenAI, TensorFlow, etc.) and their security implications.
Knowledge of cloud security architectures across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
Working knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, GDPR, SOx, EU AI Act, and NIST AI RMF.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical risks to non-technical audiences.
