Functional Analyst, Polarion

Reporting to the IS&T COE Product Management Team Lead, the Polarion Expert (Functional Analyst) is responsible for configuring and optimizing the Polarion Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) system to meet BRP’s needs. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, defining standards for Polarion, and continuously improving the application and its toolchain. The analyst will act as the first point of contact for all ALM-related expertise and ensure the application meets the organization's requirements.

The position demands strong functional and technical expertise in Polarion, along with exceptional communication skills and a deep understanding of product development methodologies. The analyst will collaborate closely with stakeholders, developers, and managers to deliver effective solutions.

YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Define standards for Polarion and collaborate to configure the Polarion Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) system for the organization.

  • Act as the first point of contact for all ALM-related expertise.

  • Continuously improve the Polarion application, add-ons, and toolchain by planning and developing features, making Do/Buy decisions with stakeholders, and executing test rollouts in a controlled environment.

  • Conduct training and coaching sessions for system developers to enhance their understanding of Polarion.

  • Share knowledge through the organization’s database and manage both user access and the application itself.

  • Actively contribute to modern work principles like agility, self-organization, process improvement, and feedback culture.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Familiar with product development methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, V-Model, and Waterfall.

  • Good understanding of Requirements Engineering, Change Management, Risk Management, and Project Planning.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, engineering, or a related field (preferred).

  • 3+ years of professional experience with Polarion.

  • Experience with IT operating systems, networking, and system administration is a plus.

  • Go getter attitude with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Solid communication abilities both written and verbal

  • Team player that demonstrates enthusiasm and initiative

  • Business savvy to anticipates and exceeds business expectations

  • Forward-thinker looking for breakthrough actions that add value

  • Pursue and achieves the highest standard of ethical conduct

  • Meet or exceed financial commitments

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to communicate effectively in English and French.

  • Willing to work after core business hours and on weekends (rarely).
