We are looking for an Industrial Designer to join an international team of talented individuals at the forefront of trends in their field. Your products will integrate perfectly with the vehicles, blending in both functionally and esthetically.
YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Senior Alias Surface Designer
- Mixed skills of Subdiv surfaces and NURBS to achieve high results on advanced concept modeling is an asset
- Create digital models of style sensitive vehicle and components starting from sketches or preliminary 3D files, using Alias Surface software
- Proportion development, refinement of quality of surfaces, proposal of options and alternatives to the designers and focus to the attention to detail
- Involvement in the development of styling for recreational vehicles (off-road vehicles and snow mobile) and/or their accessories.
- Integration and respect of the mechanical package constraints
- Integration and respect of the ergonomic package constraints
- Preparation of 2D presentation material and 3D visualization packages using VRED Design software
- Knowledge of various software like MAYA, BLENDER, VRED, Grasshopper, Keyshot, Unreal, substance and VR visualization is an asset
- Working with CMF to make custom 3D textures and materials matching their graphic proposals is an asset
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
- Bachelor in Transport Design or Product Design
- Specialized training in digital sculpting, digital designer or surface modeler using Alias Surface
- 4 to 7 years experience in transportation or product design with complex shapes
- Knowledge of VRED Design is an asset
- Ability to communicate in English, spoken and written, and ability to communicate in French is an asset
- Ability to manage one’s mandates autonomously.
- Advanced knowledge of design fundamentals: proportions, volumes / masses, dynamics of silhouette
- Advanced knowledge of light and shadows principals and of parallax effects
- Knowledge of design trends and surface qualities and finishes.
- High-level knowledge of technical constraints: draft angles, parting lines, joint between parts, etc.
- Speed of execution; the right level of execution at the right time
- Aware of the most recent digital modelling techniques.
