Your mission should you accept it:
Reporting to the Estimation Director and under the technical supervision of the Electrical Director, the Electrical Estimator analyzes the requirements of each renewable energy project submitted across North America. They conduct cost analysis, request, obtain, and evaluate subcontractor bids, review contractual conditions for the execution of potential projects, and assist in preparing technical and commercial bid proposals. The electrical components of each renewable energy project are critical to ensuring a competitive proposal.

- Extensive experience in estimating and constructing high-voltage substations and electrical projects in heavy industry;
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in estimating large construction projects;
- College diploma (DEC) or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other equivalent experience;
- Analytical and synthesizing skills, rigor, and attention to detail;
- Autonomy, versatility, and the ability to work under pressure;
- Bilingual (French and English), both oral and written;
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Project.
What you will do to complete this mission successfully:
- Check the plans and specifications (if they exist) and collect all the information/documents required for the completion of the project (construction drawings, specifications, addenda, submission forms and general and special conditions);
- Analyze the drawings and specifications, contractual conditions and identify to the Estimation Manager the elements at risk and/or opportunities;
- Coordinate, with external consultants, preliminary engineering and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering, quality or availability of materials;
- Prepare and send technical questions and answers (QRT) to customers;
- Develop a plan on how to build and plan the project as well as the methods used;
- Prepare and send tender documents to qualified suppliers and subcontractors;
- Analyze the content of submissions received from suppliers and subcontractors;
- Extract quantities (number of cubic meters, length of roads, length of electrical cables, etc.) with company tools and provide detailed quantity statements;
- Attend coordination meetings, site visits and assess the difficulty of the project to be estimated;
- Perform project cost estimation using the software used by the company;
- Prepare the general costs of the project (supervision, general conditions, offices, insurance, specific equipment, security, quality, etc.);
- Ensure that the estimate is structured according to the cost breakdowns of the different projects;
- Be in constant communication with external consultants, subcontractors and suppliers during the tender process until the contract is awarded;
- Participate in closing submissions;
- Following obtaining the contract for a project, participate in the transfer meeting with the construction teams;
- All other related tasks.
