  • Job Summary:

    As Vice President, Capital Markets Business Initiatives Delivery, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic execution and new products implementation across BMO Capital Markets, partnering closely with front-office business units, functional stakeholders, and the broader Capital Markets Initiatives & Project Delivery organization. You will lead high-impact initiatives, from early assessment through delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives, revenue enablement, operational readiness, and risk-managed growth.

    This role requires a strong ability to be independent and lead an agile-driven product and initiative delivery, ensuring iterative execution, rapid value realization, and continuous improvement. You will bring vision and discipline to lead intentional business initiatives by assessing risks, driving purposeful solutions, and implementing effective target operating models.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Drive end-to-end delivery of complex, high-impact business-led programs using agile principles to ensure deliberate alignment, stakeholder engagement, and achievement of Capital Markets business objectives.
    • Translate ambiguous business problems into structured execution pathways, synthesizing requirements across Risk, Operations, Technology, Legal, and Finance
    • Partner directly with Front Office and senior leaders to enable regional and global business strategies, ensuring solutions meet commercial objectives while maintaining strong control, regulatory, and governance alignment
    • Relationship management across various business groups within Capital Markets and Corporate, inclusive of Business Management, Legal, Technology and Operations, Risk, Treasury, and Finance.
    • Promote disciplined execution ensuring initiative documentation, risk and financial assessments, controls, supporting various approval and implementation models
    • Champion a culture of accountability, problem solving and continuous improvement, leveraging deep product, market and operational knowledge to unblock delivery challenges and support business expansion.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • 5+ years in business initiative and product delivery within Capital Markets, with experience in strategy, risk, financial, regulatory and operational transformation dimensions.
    • Possesses strong written and oral communication skills to translate strategic, financial, and risk considerations into structured, high-quality business cases that guide initiative approvals and executions.
    • Academic background in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
    • Proven track record managing large-scale, complex programs in a global environment, including Agile transformation initiatives.
    • Strategic thinker with exceptional business acumen and ability to translate strategy into actionable execution plans.
    • Strong leadership presence to influence without authority within Capital Markets.
    • Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in dynamic environments.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role based in Toronto, with a hybrid model (currently expected to be in a minimum of 4-days) is $115,000 to 130,000 CAD

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
