We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Strategy to join the North American Commercial Banking Strategy team. The Senior Manager of Strategy will play a key role in shaping and executing the strategic direction of the line of business, leading strategy development in partnership with the leadership team, and driving and influencing the development and execution of large scale initiatives across various jurisdictions.

Results are achieved through partnering with leaders and key representatives using a consultative approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Helps senior leaders developing and refining strategies in alignment with organizational goals and markets trends, based on in-depth understanding of the business.
  • Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor, serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
  • Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
  • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues; including comprehensive market analysis and competitive research to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
  • Develops business cases by identifying needs, analysing potential options and assessing expected return on investment.
  • Leads cross functional teams to execute strategic initiatives ensuring alignment with business and financial goals.
  • Leads change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
  • Leads the execution of operational programs; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.
  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders, ensures alignment and focus.
  • Stays up to date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging trend.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
  • Post-secondary degree in relevant field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy or business development, ideally with a focus on financial services.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful strategic initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Compensation and Benefits:

$92,400.00 - $171,600.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
