This is a hybrid role, based out of Toronto, that report directly to the Director of EDB and Lending Technology and Platform Modernization. The Senior Manager of Vendor Applications independently manages day-to-day operations and maintenance of department. A Senior Manager of Vendor Applications job is to oversee and manage relationships with third-party vendors providing technical services. This includes ensuring compliance, performance, and cost-effectiveness, as well as managing the overall vendor lifecycle from onboarding to contract renewal. The Senior Technical Vendor Manager will have a strong work capacity, bias for action, dealing with a level of ambiguity, proven experience in Program and Stakeholder Management. This person will have a passion to build capability and relationships. This individual needs to be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization in order to be successful.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, acting as a point of contact, and ensuring effective communication.

  • Performance Monitoring: Tracking vendor performance against agreed-upon SLAs, identifying areas for improvement, and addressing issues promptly.

  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiating and managing vendor contracts, ensuring favorable terms and prices, and overseeing the onboarding process.

  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring vendors comply with company policies, regulations, and industry standards, and identifying and mitigating potential risks.

  • Project Management: Overseeing vendor-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

  • Technical Expertise: Possessing a strong understanding of IT systems, software, and infrastructure to effectively evaluate vendor capabilities.

  • Collaboration: Working with internal teams to align vendor selection and management with organizational goals.

  • Cost Optimization: Identifying cost-saving opportunities and negotiating favorable pricing with vendors.

  • Vendor Selection and Development: Evaluating potential vendors, conducting due diligence, and developing strategies for vendor development and enhancement.

  • Onboarding and Training: Overseeing the onboarding process for new vendors, providing training and support, and ensuring they understand organizational expectations.

  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Responsible for a team of Technical Leads who will address technical issues and problems that may arise, and escalating issues when necessary.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitoring vendor performance, analyzing data, and generating reports to track progress and identify trends.

  • Staying current with technology: Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the vendor landscape.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Post- secondary degree or equivalent

  • 7+ years of relevant experience and/or certification in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge and experience managing vendor programs.

  • Experience working in IT in a Cloud, AI or ML background

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Advanced expertise in influencing skills

  • Extensive expertise in collaboration and team skills, particularly in cross-group collaboration.

  • Able to manage ambiguity.

  • Expert in data-driven decision making.

Salary:

$92,400.00 - $171,600.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
