Quantitative Application Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain applications that support quantitative research, modeling, and analytics. This role combines strong programming expertise with a deep understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts to deliver robust, scalable solutions for data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Development:
  • Design and implement high-performance applications for quantitative analysis and modeling.
  • Develop tools and frameworks to support research workflows and data processing.

• Model Implementation:
  • Translate mathematical models and algorithms into efficient, production-ready code.
  • Collaborate with quantitative analysts to validate and optimize models.

• Data Integration & Management:
  • Build systems for ingesting, cleaning, and transforming large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Ensure data integrity and optimize storage for speed and scalability.

• Performance Optimization:
  • Profile and optimize applications for speed, memory usage, and reliability.
  • Implement parallelization and distributed computing where necessary.

• Collaboration & Documentation:
  • Work closely with researchers, data scientists, and other developers to deliver solutions.
  • Maintain clear documentation for code, processes, and system architecture.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
