Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Grade 12 graduate or equivalent required
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Office Administration program preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Fast, accurate Keyboarding skills required
- Intermediate level proficiency using the MS Office Suite of products required
- Ability to compile, interpret and utilize statistical data required
- Ability to develop and maintain electronic and paper files for ease of retrieval required
- Ability to coordinate and support department and physician schedules to ensure timely patient access to care required
- Recent experience as a Medical Secretary is preferred
- Familiar with videoconferencing equipment, scheduling, and set-up procedures preferred
- Ability to record minutes of meetings and transcribe for review and distribution preferred
- Ability to organize logistics for meetings, educational and special events preferred
- Recent Meditech patient registration experience preferred
-Advanced customer service skills with attention to the patient experience required
-Prepare and manage patient records/files in an organized system.
-Manage busy phone lines, voicemail, fax systems, and email accounts, channeling inquiries to the appropriate person or department
-Schedule appointments for assessments/visits in various areas of the department
-Prioritize, monitor, and review referrals and waiting lists with the Manager.
-Handle routine questions and feedback about services
-Support collection and tracking of data for all programs
-Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
-Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
-Other related duties, which will include special projects, as assigned
