Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

-Successful completion of a Post Secondary Program preferred
-Graduate of Health Sciences Program preferred
-Basic proficiency in the use of computers required
-Physical ability to meet the demands of the position (pushing/pulling up to 55lbs) required
-Knowledge of proper lifting techniques required
-Experience with the Virtuo software preferred
-Hospital supply inventory experience preferred
-Warehousing experience preferred
-Shipping and Receiving experience preferred
-Experience using a handheld bar code scanner preferred
-Recent experience in a related position requiring adherence to strict timelines, meeting conflicting demands and differentiating between large numbers of products preferred
- Collects soiled linen from patient care areas and transports to designated pick up location
-Receives clean linen from external service provider and distributes to units
-Stocks linen room and ensures par levels are maintained throughout the hospital
-Responsible for ordering, rotating and stocking of general medical supplies
-Uses handheld scanner to order supplies
-Carries or conveys by hand truck
-Uses computerized inventory system
-Records or reports discrepancies or damage in shipments
-Follows up on backordered items
-Maintains linen carts, supply rooms, and distribution areas in a clean and organized manner
-Receives requests for supplies and linens and delivers
-Follows infection prevention and control practices in handling and transport of linen supplies
-Communicates regularly with Mohawk Medbuy
-Other related duties as assigned
Selection will be made on the basis of ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 11.04 of the SEIU Collective Agreement
