Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

-Licensed by the Province of Ontario under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005 required
-Diploma or degree program in Law & Security Administration, Police Foundations, Criminology or other law-based field of study at a recognized Community College or University required
-Valid certification in CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention required
-Valid Ontario unrestricted Class ‘G’ Driver’s license required
Physical ability to meet the demands of the position required
-Basic proficiency in the use of computers required
-Recent Security experience in an Institutional or Industrial setting preferred
-Performs regular preventative security patrols, escorts, and standby
-Respond to all Emergency situations as per policies and procedures
-Respond, intervene in and/or investigate incidents of violence, crime, accident and other undesirable events
-Maintains detailed notebook of shift activities and completes detailed incident reports
-Responsible for daily and monthly fire inspections
-Respond to all chemical spills with the HAZMAT cart and follow appropriate protocol
-Routine inspection for safety hazards on patrols
-Completes maintenance requisitions for equipment deficiencies or property damage
-Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
-Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
-Acts as a coach, mentor, resource and positive role model for new staff and students
-Other related duties as assigned
Selection will be made on the basis of ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 11.04 of the SEIU Collective Agreement
