Job Description

Bisson Fortin is seeking an Architect/Sustainable Development Specialist to participate in the development and improvement of sustainable development best practices within the firm. In support of the teams, he or she will take ownership of the various project phases to evaluate and propose concrete approaches related to sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support design teams in the development and integration of sustainable development strategies
  • Ensure the integration of sustainable development strategies and principles into the execution and construction phases of projects.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of sustainable development best practices
  • Act as project manager for various mandates

In the course of his or her work, Architect/Sustainable Development Specialist will be required to, among other things, :

  • Play a structuring role in the Sustainable Development Committee, which aims to improve the firm's practices.
  • Perform project analysis in relation to LEED, WELL, etc. rating systems.
  • Oversee the preparation of documentation related to the certification process for various projects (LEED, WELL, Fitwel, Envision, BCZ, etc.).
  • Prepare various reports and/or deliverables related to sustainable development.
  • Research and monitor emerging trends
  • Conduct project meetings with multidisciplinary team
  • Develop project schedules based on deliverables
  • Liaise with partners and stakeholders
  • Identify and analyze problems and find solutions

Required Qualifications

To fill this position, the Sustainable Development Architect must have the following qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture
  • Member of the Ordre des architectes du Québec
  • At least 7 years of experience in architecture
  • Accreditation in sustainable development (AP LEED) - essential
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in certification (asset)
  • ENV-SP accreditation (asset)
  • ASP card (asset)

Requested skills

  • Fluency in French (written and spoken) - mandatory
