Under the supervision of the Manager Accounts Receivable, Credit & Cash Application, the Technician, Cash Application is responsible for processing payments received from customers and entering them into the AS400 computer system. The incumbent is also responsible for point-of-sale terminal reconciliation, bank reconciliation, journal entries and provides support to collections departments, accounting and service centers on issues related to collection and the terminal closing process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out activities related to the collection of payments by check, electronic funds transfer and credit card.
  • Perform bank reconciliation and reconciliation of credit card payments (Moneris System).
  • Make check deposits using the bank scanner.
  • Adjust and journal entries to accounts receivable.
  • Make journal entries for bad debt write-offs.
  • Perform ledger reconciliation.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of point-of-sale terminals in service centers in Canada.
  • Provide support service to service centers in the daily closing process of the point of sale system.
  • Manage merchant number requests from the Moneris service provider.
  • Participate in various process improvement projects.
  • Perform any other tasks related to these functions, as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • DEC or Diploma of professional studies in administration or accounting.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of cash collection experience.
  • Mastery of basic accounting concepts (writing, bank reconciliation, etc.);
  • Good knowledge of the MS office suite: Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Good sense of organization and teamwork
  • Ability to manage a large volume, prioritize tasks and follow up.
  • Meticulousness, rigor, autonomy
  • Knowledge of AS400 and Oracle would be an asset
