Belron Canada is looking for a passionate Junior Health and Safety Advisor to join our team and help create a safe work environment while achieving our key performance indicators. As a Junior Advisor for Belron’s retail and wholesale business sectors, the candidate will contribute to the evolution of our health, safety, and behavioral culture toward a proactive prevention status.

The Junior Health and Safety Advisor supports the implementation and monitoring of health and safety policies, programs, and procedures. They work closely with operational teams to promote a safe work environment that complies with current standards.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development, implementation, and communication of the HSWE management system.
  • Collaborate in incident analysis and follow-up on corrective and preventive measures with relevant departments.
  • Assist in the implementation of prevention programs (ergonomics, PPE, hazardous materials management, etc.).
  • Attend HSWE meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of practices.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and report potential hazards.
  • Help monitor HSWE performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Promote a culture of personal responsibility and commitment to health and safety.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and training.

Requirements

  • College diploma (DEC) or Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety , industrial hygiene, environment, risk management, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role (including relevant internships or student jobs).
  • Knowledge of national HSWE laws and regulations (e.g., CNESST, WSIB, Canadian Labour Code, WHMIS).
  • Ability to identify, assess, and control workplace risks.
  • Bilingual, able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with the ability to simplify technical information.
  • Ability to set goals, manage multiple projects and initiatives, and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and administrative rigor, especially for action tracking.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in computer tools (Microsoft Office Suite, online training platforms).
  • Autonomy and initiative, while knowing when to seek support.
  • Discretion and respect for the confidentiality of employee health information.
