Our client, a renowned Quebec-based engineering company, stands out for its commitment to excellence and innovation. Operating primarily in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical sectors, the company is currently looking for a Technical Sales Representative to join its South Shore of Montréal branch.

In this role, you’ll leverage your technical know-how to deliver customized solutions that meet your clients’ specific needs. You’ll play a key part in driving business growth by building long-lasting relationships and promoting high-quality products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities with both existing and potential clients.
  • Prospect new clients and promote the company’s products and services.
  • Assess and respond to clients’ technical needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with distributors and suppliers.
  • Maintain profitable, long-term relationships with existing clients.
  • Advise clients on the best products for their specific applications.
  • Prepare, write, and present quotations and proposals to clients.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide technical support as needed.
  • Validate order information and create purchase orders in the internal system.
  • Ensure proper after-sales follow-up with customers.
  • Manage product inventory.
  • Perform cross-selling and recommend complementary products.
  • Participate in internal and supplier-provided training programs.
  • Support other sales representatives as needed.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

Requested skills

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in Québec.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a technical field (engineering, electromechanics, welding, etc.).
  • Knowledge of industrial instrumentation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license (Class 5), personal vehicle, and mobile phone.
  • Bilingual (French and English) — 50% of suppliers are English-speaking.
  • Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, Solid Edge, SolidWorks).
  • Comfortable with technology and familiar with Collabox or SAP (an asset).
  • DEC or equivalent in Electrotechnics, Instrumentation & Control, or a related technical field (asset).
