Your Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer Specialist to join our dynamic IT team in Toronto. In this role, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of a secure and resilient IT network and telecom infrastructure that supports our national operations. This is a one-year contract position offering the opportunity to work on high-impact projects in a collaborative environment.
As a Network Engineer Specialist, you will:
Manage and optimize enterprise WAN environments, including SD-WAN and Azure cloud networking.
Maintain and support core and branch LAN environments to ensure high availability and performance.
Administer firewalls and enforce network security protocols.
Configure and manage Microsoft Azure network services.
Oversee and troubleshoot our Wi-Fi infrastructure.
Work with various established service providers and vendors for support, design and roadmaps.
Prepare detailed network diagrams, design documents, MOPs, and SOPs in compliance with ISO 27001 standards.
Provide Tier 3 support for network infrastructure in coordination with internal teams and external partners.
Participate in after-hours activities such as deployments, security patches, and OS upgrades, including occasional visits to nearby offices or data centers.
Share “On-Call” responsibilities with a team of skilled individuals for after-hours escalations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date CMDB records.
Participate in projects and change management processes.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending best practices to enhance network performance and security.

Your experience and education
3-5 years of experience in network engineering or a similar role with hands-on Juniper switch configuration and troubleshooting experience in a 24/7 critical infrastructure system environment across multiple sites.
1~2 years of hands-on experience with Fortinet Firewalls, and other Fortinet appliances such as FortiAnalyzer, and FortiManager.
You have solid knowledge and understanding of SD-WAN and network technology, network architecture, and good understanding of the Azure networking.
1~2 years of working experience in configuring and managing WLAN environment for optimal service delivery. Working with MIST access points, and MIST AI. Experience working with Aruba ClearPass and Aruba Central is an asset.
You have strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols, NAT, VLAN Trunking, VoIP and SIP.
You are familiar with ticketing, alarming, logging and monitoring software such as ScienceLogic, and ServiceNow.
Knowledge in managing MS Teams telephony, and eFax is an asset.
Knowledge in working with Netscaler load balancer is an asset.
You are an organized self-starter in managing deadlines and able to work independently or as part of a team on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
You are fluent in English, written and verbal. French is an asset.
You have a university Degree in Computer Science or in a related discipline.
