Your Opportunity
Our Communications team is looking for a Social Media Manager to develop and execute high impact social media strategies and campaigns that drive engagement, increase brand awareness, and positively enhance marketing objectives. You will play an important role in driving the BDO brand forward and engaging with key audiences at various stages of the client lifecycle.
- Create the vision for key social channels in alignment with the firm’s brand and strategic communications objectives
- Develop, implement, and manage social media strategies across various platforms
- Manage and execute the creative for social posts, including static imagery, video, motion graphics, etc.
- Monitor channels and respond to social media interactions in a timely manner
- Proactively make recommendations based on market and audience dynamics around how, when and who to engage
- Analyze social media metrics to build a baseline to assess the effectiveness of campaigns, identify trends, and inform future strategies
- Develop social strategies and posts for executive team members
- Be accountable for quality and consistency across social channels
- Collaborate closely across the Marketing and Communications team to align social media efforts with overall brand and marketing objectives
- Manage our employee advocacy platform and program
- Handle crisis management on social media platforms, addressing negative feedback or situations that may arise in a professional manner and escalate as needed
- Lead a team and be responsible for coaching and development of talent
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Manage vendor relationships
- Work with influencers, brand ambassadors and other vendors to amplify the brand’s reach and credibility
- Stay up-to-date and make recommendations based on the latest social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to ensure the brand remains relevant and innovative

Your Experience and Education
- 5+ years of experience as a Social Media Manager or similar role
- Proven experience of developing and executing marketing strategies on a variety of social media platforms
- Strong knowledge of social media best practices and related compliance requirements
- Proven experience creating social media content in accordance with an organization’s brand
- Excellent writing and creative skills
- Proven experience leveraging data and analytics to develop insights to drive proactive approaches
- Vendor and agency management experience
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at different levels throughout the organization
- Strong project management skills
- Experience managing social media channels in English and French is an asset
- Bilingual in English and French is an asset
