BDO is on a mission to become a Top Tier learning organization, where learning drives business performance, talent growth, and cultural resilience. This is for an existing vacancy for a Director of Learning & Development Operations, where you will act as the internal engine powering the mission.
Reporting to the Chief Learning & Development Officer, you will be accountable for the effectiveness of L&D operations and leads through a team to ensure learning is delivered with consistency, quality, and measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall Accountability for L&D Operations: Provides day-to-day operational leadership through functional oversight of approximately 14 team members across learning technology, delivery, and operations; directly manages Sr. Manager, L&D.
- Learning Measurement & Reporting Oversight: Define learning measurement frameworks and reporting expectations, working through the team to produce insights that demonstrate adoption, effectiveness, and value.
- Learning Sustainment Strategy & Enablement: Establish learning sustainment approaches and toolkits, enabling program managers and designers to embed reinforcement, application, and follow-through into their programs.
- Operational Planning & Execution Rhythm: Create and maintain planning cycles, intake processes, prioritization mechanisms, and delivery rhythms, enabling the team to execute consistently and predictably.
- Digital Learning Enablement & Curation: Provide direction on digital learning strategy and content curation, enabling the team to build pathways, campaigns, and experiences aligned to business needs.
- L&D Communications & Marketing Enablement: Set the approach and standards for learning communications and marketing, partnering with the team to ensure learning offerings are clearly positioned and well-adopted.
- People Leadership & Capability Building: Lead, coach, and develop team members, with particular focus on strengthening ownership, role clarity, and execution capability for developing team members.
- Cross-Team Coordination & Ways of Working: Enable strong collaboration across Design & Development, Program Management, Learning Technology, and Consulting teams by clarifying roles, handoffs, and decision rights.
- Operational Maturity & Continuous Improvement: Identify operational gaps and risks, and guide the team in implementing improvements that increase scalability, quality, and confidence in L&D delivery.
Please note this is a 12-18-month contract

Your experience and education
- Proven experience leading L&D operations in complex, multi-team environments
- Deep familiarity with LMS/LXP ecosystems (Workday Learning, Percipio or similar)
- Strong learning measurement and reporting capability
- Track record of operationalizing learning strategy, not just designing programs
- Ability to bring structure, clarity, and calm to developing teams
- Strong stakeholder communication and influence skills
- Pragmatic, builder mindset suited to a contract transformation role
