Your Opportunity
As a Consultant within BDO's Finance Effectiveness & Transformation practice, you will support Finance advisory and transformation engagements while contributing to the growth of a developing practice. You will work with experienced consultants, Partners, CFOs, and Finance leaders to analyze business challenges, develop practical solutions, and support the delivery of high-impact client work.
This unique role offers you the opportunity to:
Help build and shape a growing Finance Effectiveness & Transformation practice.

Support workstreams across Finance advisory and transformation engagements, including Finance strategy, operating model design, process optimization, reporting modernization, FP&A, controllership effectiveness, ERP/EPM enablement, benchmarking, and CFO effectiveness.
Support executive interviews, workshops, and working sessions with CFOs, Controllers, FP&A leaders, Finance teams, and other client stakeholders.
Analyze Finance processes, operating models, reporting, systems, roles, responsibilities, and ways of working to identify improvement opportunities.
Translate business needs and stakeholder input into clear findings, requirements, recommendations, roadmaps, and implementation support materials.
Develop client-ready deliverables, including current-state assessments, presentation materials, process summaries, target-state designs, and implementation plans.
Support go-to-market activity, proposal development, market research, account planning, and internal relationship-building across the firm.
Contribute to the development of methodologies, tools, templates, accelerators, market-facing offerings, and delivery assets.
Collaborate with teams across Management Consulting, Digital, ERP/EPM, Risk Advisory, Tax, and other service lines to support integrated client solutions.
You bring strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize information into clear observations, implications, and recommendations.
You are comfortable supporting client discussions, asking thoughtful questions, and documenting key takeaways in a clear and structured way.
You contribute to high-quality client outputs through strong analysis, attention to detail, and practical problem-solving.
You are comfortable working in ambiguity and supporting the development of new offerings, tools, and practice assets.
You adopt a collaborative approach to working across service lines, industries, and account teams to support integrated client solutions.
You are practical, outcome-driven, and client-centered - focused on measurable Finance outcomes and sustainable capability transfer.
You have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, professional, and client-ready materials.
Completed undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials.
An accounting designation (CPA), progress toward a CPA designation, or relevant master's degree is preferred.
1-4 years of relevant work experience in finance, consulting, transformation, process improvement, or a related field.
Experience or strong interest in financial management disciplines, such as financial process design, budgeting and planning, financial reporting, financial performance management, analytics and data modelling, and business case development.
Experience with, or interest in acquiring knowledge of, systems and technologies that support the finance function, such as Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365, SAP, Oracle, Blackline, Workiva, etc.
Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel.
Canadian travel required; occasional international travel. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments.
The expected range of compensation for this role is $60,000 - $90,000 annually.
