Job Summary

The Team
As a Child Protection Worker on the Youth Outreach and Empowerment Team (YOET), you will join a passionate group of professionals working with youth and their families. The young people we serve often are facing complex challenges - including substance abuse, severe mental health issues, sexual exploitation, and connection to gangs. This South Fraser team (YOET) works closely as a team, and with community organizations, as well mental health professionals, Schools, Police and Elders. We focus on relationship building, supporting parents and youth, and strengthening connection to community.

Our team includes five child protection workers, one ROOTS worker, a social work assistant, one and a half youth advisors and a dedicated Team Leader. Together, we collaborate closely with a wide range of professionals, including mental health and community organizations, to improve the wellbeing and reduce the risk of harm of indigenous and non-Indigenous youth.

The Role
In this role, you will work with high-risk youth in stressful and complex situations, handling crises and emotionally charged cases arising from youth protection needs. Your work will support some of the most vulnerable children in B.C., who face a range of challenges.
