The Population Health Surveillance and Epidemiology (PHSE) team is responsible for applying advanced statistical and epidemiological methods to monitor the trends in population health and health inequalities in the province. The data analyst will support the PHSE in the development of advanced statistical methods for public health surveillance and applied epidemiological research. Job Requirements: Education/Experience Bachelors degree or higher in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, health information science, public health, health studies, or other physical, life or social sciences or in a related field and a minimum of 1 year of *related experience; OR Diploma in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, health information science, public health, health studies, or other physical, life or social sciences in the related field and a minimum of 2 years of *related experience; OR Certification in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, health information science, public health, health studies, or other physical, life or social sciences in in the related field and a minimum of 3 years of *related experience; OR Any equivalent combination of education and *related experience. *Related experience must include the following: Working experience in statistics, computer sciences, mathematics, data sciences, public health or other related disciplines Recent direct experience conducting quantitative analysis with multiple datasets using R or Python Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following: Self-identify as Indigenous (e.g. First Nations, Mtis or Inuit). Experience using Git and/or GitHub. Experience working with large administrative health data. Additional years of experience.
