The Team
The Justice, Health and Revenue Group (JHR); Subgroup, Tax, Insolvency, Cost Recovery (TICR) is seeking applicants for the role of Paralegal to work with the Health Care Cost Recovery Team under the supervision of the Deputy Supervisor. The team is well-established and known for its highly collaborative and supportive work environment. With approximately 10 dedicated lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants in an office group of 45 professionals, the team works closely with the Legal Office Manager, Deputy Supervisor, Paralegals, and Legal Assistants. This work is innovative and crucial to maintaining economic health, ensuring fair and efficient processes to assist with the continuation of government-funded healthcare systems.
The Role
As a Paralegal with the TICR Team, you will manage a variety of different files in the field of Health related litigation, including all elements of document management, drafting legal documents and affidavits, managing witnesses and experts, supporting legal counsel at all stages of a file, and liaising with clients. This is a dynamic role that offers diversity in your practice. This role also offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in holding wrongdoers accountable. Qualifications:
- Paralegal Certificate, Diploma, or Degree from a recognized institution (i.e. Bachelor of Law degree)
- Proof of completion of credentials required.
- Minimum of four (4) years' experience as a Paralegal or equivalent.
- Recent experience managing and coordinating document production and disclosure.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
- Recent experience on personal injury claims involving medical and expert evidence.
- Recent experience supporting health-related class actions, including handling medical records and related documentation.
- Recent experience managing high volumes of files with competing deadlines and shifting priorities.

There is one (1) permanent opportunity available. This position is based in Victoria.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
