Job Summary

The Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB), under the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, oversees the regulation and licensing of liquor and cannabis establishments and events. The Planning and Analytics Unit undertakes and manages work to fix or enhance public and business-facing systems. The Analyst, Technical Architecture position provides essential expertise for the Planning and Analytics Unit, as an enabler for effectively developing strategic technical solutions and improvements for LCRB’s mission critical service delivery systems.

This role will participate in the planning and development of shared infrastructure services; assist in the design of possible solutions; design and build proof of concept and feasibility assessment environments; and provide technical assistance on escalated problems or architectural design issues.

Job Requirements:

  • A degree in computer science or a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of recent (within the past 5 years) related experience; OR
  • A diploma in computer science or a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of recent (within the last 7 years) related experience.


Recent, related experience must include:

  • Experience writing and developing business cases.
  • Experience writing and developing technical architectures/designs,
  • Experience writing and developing service designs.


Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience working on an agile team.
  • Experience with systems architecture tools.
  • Experience with complex projects with tight deadlines, multiple partners, and competing priorities.
