Job Summary

The Team
The Services to Adults Legal Team at the Public Guardian and Trustee (PGT) is a collaborative, growing group that delivers timely, high-quality legal support to a diverse client community. Working closely with legal and administrative partners across the organization, the team values inclusion, respect, and shared accountability while managing a high volume of meaningful work. This supportive environment embraces diverse perspectives and ensures equitable access to legal services for adults across the province.

The Role
The Administrative Team Leader plays a key part in keeping the Services to Adults at the PGT running smoothly, providing leadership, coordination, and oversight of essential administrative processes that support timely legal services. It offers the opportunity to guide and support a team while helping ensure fair and consistent service for a diverse range of clients, including those who are vulnerable. You’ll be inspired by the chance to use your leadership and organizational strengths to make a real difference in people’s lives across the province.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience working directly with the public either in person or over the phone.
  • Four years clerical experience, education and/or training preferably in a legal environment or its equivalent.
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience, including initiative in resolving issues and improving processes.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

  • Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit.
  • Post-Secondary education/certification in office administration
  • At least 2 years supervisory experience.

About this Position:
There are two temporary opportunities until March 31, 2027. These positions may be extended or become permanent.
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies, including program areas that are not focused on legal services at the PGT.
Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
