The Team:
The Sunshine Coast Natural Resource District Office is a collaborative, welcoming team dedicated to serving Sunshine Coast communities with professionalism and care. Our close knit admin team of four supports approximately 35 district staff, playing a critical role in everything from permitting and resource road management to office safety - truly the engine room that keeps our operations running smoothly. What makes this team special is its strong team first mindset, working together to help everyone across the office get things done.

The Role:
The Resource Clerk is a decisive, confident, and results oriented professional who provides essential technical and administrative support to resource authorizations and district operations. This public facing role sits at the intersection of clients, industry, and government, supporting tenure and permitting administration, assisting partners and stakeholders, and ensuring accurate data and document control, while taking initiative as a key contributor to the smooth operation of the district. Based in Powell River, this is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing, close knit team in an outstanding coastal community, where your work will truly matter by directly supporting the forest sector and strengthening a resilient Sunshine Coast community.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience providing clerical/administrative support in an office environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Forest tenure and resource road administration experience.
  • Experience with the use and general application of legislation, policy and procedures in the provision of services to the public.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available in Powell River.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent vacancies in Powell River.
