Job Summary

The Team
The Ministry of Children and Family Development is dedicated to enhancing the capacity of families and communities to nurture and safeguard vulnerable children and youth. Join our Admin Float team at the Ministry of Children and Family Development, where you'll play a crucial role in providing vital administrative support to offices in Prince George. You'll collaborate with Directors, Team Leaders, Social Workers, Social Worker Assistants, and Office Managers, making a significant impact on the safety and well-being of children and youth. The Role
Our Team Assistants provide essential support to a variety of Ministry offices. In this role, you will liaise with other ministries and agencies to initiate services, process various documents and contracts, update client information, and handle records management duties. You will also assist with training administrative staff and provide general administrative and clerical support as needed. This position provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams, gain valuable experience, and make a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Certificate or coursework and six (6) months *related experience; OR
  • Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and six (6) months *related experience; OR
  • Evergreen and one (1) year *related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Related experience may include the following:

  • Six (6) months experience working in a computerized environment using various computer applications and data bases, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, MS Teams, Outlook) for word processing, spread sheeting, data entry, email and video teleconferencing; and case management or other database applications.
  • Experience providing quality customer or client service, carrying out duties and responding to client needs in a professional manner.
  • Experience working independently and as a team member with a multi-disciplinary environment and with other professional staff, client, and service providers.


Note: Consideration may be given for completion of an Administrative Business Skills course or program as experience equivalency.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • One (1) or more years' experience working in a computerized environment using various computer applications and data bases, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, MS Teams, Outlook) for word processing, spread sheeting, data entry, email and video teleconferencing; and case management or other database applications.
  • Administrative experience working with vulnerable children and families in a human/social services setting.
  • Experience using MCFD applications: Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or Management Information Systems (MIS) computer applications.

About this Position:
This is a float position. Successful applicants may be required to work from any office in the Prince George Area.
Flexible work options are available, this position may be able to work up to two days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
