Job Summary

The Team
The Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services team is an established group committed to providing essential mental health services to young people involved in the justice system. This team works closely with probation services, community agencies and contracted service providers, as well as Youth Custody Services staff to deliver Court-ordered assessments and treatments. The Role
Under direction of the Regional Office Administrator (ROA), the Office Clerk provides clerical support, reception and clinical record maintenance functions for the Prince George Outpatient Clinic. Duties may include word processing memoranda, correspondence and confidential assessment and treatment reports for the Youth Court and Probation; reception; data entry; filing of client clinical records; and other related administration support duties such as vacation relief and supporting special projects.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • 1 year or more administrative support or secretarial experience.
  • 1 year or more experience or training in stenographic, secretarial or administrative support.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite. This includes Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel.
  • Experience typing high volumes of information in a workplace setting.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

  • Medical Office Assistant or Legal Secretary training
  • Experience word processing medico-legal documentation.
  • Dicta-typing experience.
  • Experience using psychiatric, or psychological terminology.
  • Experience working with explicit or graphic client reports and documents.

Willingness Statements:

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet outcome timelines within a dynamic, changing environment.
  • May be required to work in close proximity to potentially aggressive, violent, or otherwise unpredictable youth.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent vacancies.
