The Team
The Information Line Team is an established unit within the Corporate Operations Division, made up of four agents and one supervisor who work closely with staff across the division. The team provides education and support to the public on the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and the Temporary Foreign Worker Protection Act (TFWPA), while also processing internal branch requests. Team members frequently support the public during emotionally charged interactions, requiring strong communication skills and empathy to deliver accurate information without providing legal advice-an essential asset to the branch.
The Role
As the Information Line Agent, you’ll respond to public enquiries-by phone, email, in writing, and in person-regarding the services provided by ESB. You’ll also offer general guidance on the application and interpretation of the Employment Standards Act, the Temporary Foreign Worker Protection Act, and related legislation and policies.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.

Experience in word processing and other computer applications such as MS Word, Outlook, Excel.

Experience using databases to enter, update, search, retrieve and extract data ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

Experience providing client service.
-
A minimum of one (1) year experience applying and explaining regulations or policies.

A minimum of one (1) year experience working in an office providing information or service to clients, or in a call centre setting.
Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

Experience using computerized call center technology such as ICEAnywhere.

Experience dealing with emotionally charged individuals or groups.

Experience using databases to enter, update, search, retrieve and extract data ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

About this Position:
Two (2) positions available. One (1) permanent and one (1) temporary assignment until 02/28/2027, that may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to four (4) days per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent and/or temporary vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
