The Team

You'll be joining the Cariboo District Administration Team-a positive, and supportive group that values collaboration and inclusivity. This close-knit team of up to five members support both the Operational and Development Services teams. The team comprises both experienced staff with newer team members, creating a welcoming space for fresh perspectives and shared growth.

The Role

As a District Clerk in the South Interior Region - Cariboo District, you'll play a key role in providing excellent customer service as the first point of contact for the public. Your responsibilities will include handling phone inquiries, organizing files, processing invoices, and managing hired equipment, all while ensuring that clients' needs are quickly identified and directed to the appropriate team member. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a supportive team, where you’ll gain valuable experience with the Ministry of Transportation and continuously expand your skills through a variety of tasks.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Certificate or coursework and 6 months related experience; OR
  • Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and 6 months related experience; OR
  • Evergreen and 1 year related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related Experience may include

  • Experience working in a professional office and high-volume customer service environment.

Preferences

  • A combination of two (2) years’ clerical/administrative support experience, education and/or training, preferably gained in a professional office and high-volume customer service environment.

Security Screenings

  • Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position)
