The Branch also oversees and supports BC Transit and TransLink to ensure it carries out their respective responsibilities and operations to ensure British Columbia has a reliable, affordable and safe public transit system. In this position, you will lead and coordinate the development of complex, sensitive and often highly visible transit policy initiatives, projects and working groups. A key focus of the position is on transit strategies, policies and legislation relating primarily in Metro Vancouver and neighbouring communities. The duties will require significant engagement with internal and external stakeholders as well as issues management. Job Requirements: University degree in project management, business administration, public administration, related field or equivalent and 3 years of current program and related experience OR more than 5 years of management and related industry experience may be considered. Related experience includes a combination of the following: Experience in project management and preparing and delivering a variety of proposals, reports, issue papers and presentations. Experience in planning, developing and implementing significant strategic policy and/or legislative changes. Experience managing issues, problem solving strategically, and providing advice to senior or executive management teams, internal staff, and external stakeholders. Experience dealing with politically sensitive and provincially significant issues. Experience and ability to organize, manage, and lead diverse complex projects and teams simultaneously, and experience working with external consultants. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
