The responsibilities of the PHO are outlined in the Public Health Act. The Population Health Surveillance and Epidemiology Branch within the OPHO is responsible for applying advanced statistical and epidemiological methods to monitor the trends in population health and health inequalities in the province. Under the direction of the Provincial Epidemiologist and Executive Director, the Director will supervise the data science team within the Branch in population health data management and analysis. Job Requirements: Masters degree or Doctorate degree in population and public health, biostatistics, health/medical informatics or other relevant fields; Minimum of five (5) years *related experience; Minimum of three (3) years experience in a supervisory/management position. *Related experience must include: Experience in quantitative data analysis using large administrative health data sets, primarily in the Canadian healthcare system. Experience in data management, statistical analysis, and project management. Experience using analytical software (e.g. R, and/or Python, etc.). Experience in managing population health surveillance and research data analysis projects.
