Job Summary

Reporting to a Manager within the Aboriginal Services Branch, the Aboriginal Services Branch Analyst works closely with Indigenous Child and Family Service Agencies (ICFSAs) , Indigenous communities, and Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) staff. In this role you will provide consultation, training, mentoring, support, and assist in ensuring ICFSAs have the required knowledge, skills and supports to deliver the highest quality of service to Indigenous children, youth, families, and communities they serve. The Analyst models exemplary judgement, practice skills, professional values, and ethics in every facet of this role.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Social Work; OR
  • BA Child and Youth Care; OR
  • M. Ed. Counselling/MA Clinical Psychology having completed a practicum in family and child welfare; OR
  • May consider an equivalent combination of education (including a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field at minimum) and experience where an extensive experience in social work principles and practices is demonstrated.

The following recent (gained within the last seven (7) years) experience is required:

  • At least five (5) years of experience in child welfare social work, and/or child protection.
  • Experience in a social services setting providing consultation and advice to Indigenous Child and Family Service Agencies (IFSAs) or Indigenous communities.
  • Experience in client services and/or internal/external partners consultation and consensus building.
  • At least two (2) years of experience working with Indigenous people, communities and/or ICFSA.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience in practice oversight processes.
  • Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
