Central Okanagan Public Schools is located in the Central Okanagan encompassing the communities of Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, and Lake Country. There are a total of 51 school sites with 33 Elementary Schools, 8 Middle schools, 5 Secondary Schools, 3 Learning Centres, an Alternate Education School, and an Online Learning School (K-12). We invite applications for the position of:

Purchasing Assistant - Full-Time (0607)

Pay Grade 6 - Job #0607 - $27.96/Hour

Thirty-five (35) hours per week, twelve (12) months of the year.

Under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, investigate and process purchase requests, prepare tenders, maintain the Central Stores inventory, order office/operational supplies, oversee the sales of surplus equipment/materials, respond to inquiries, and perform clerical duties.

Applicants must have :

- completion of Secondary School (Grade 12);

- one (1) year previous experience in a related position;

- one (1) year of accounting experience within the last three years;

- knowledge and experience with data input, spreadsheets (e.g. Excel);

- knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite;

- knowledge and experience with Adobe Acrobat;

- a high quality of work including accuracy and dependability;

- good organizational skills;

- excellent interpersonal skills.

- a net typing speed of thirty-five (35) words per minute;

Applicants will be expected to:

- Successfully complete the District clerical assessment

- Successfully complete all required Health and Safety courses

- Successfully complete the CIMS Web Financial School Accounting course and Admin Connect (must successfully complete District Bookkeeping course)

- Successfully demonstrate ability and proficiency to navigate and utilize Sparkrock 365 software;

- Successfully complete the Districts Health and Safety courses
