you will be a member of our multidisciplinary team, work the school year calendar with breaks at Christmas, Easter and for the summer. As well, excellent benefits are included, and a retirement package begins in year 2.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

consult with school-based staff, families and district personnel to provide a continuum of occupational therapy goals to students from Pre-K - grade 12

conduct screenings, assessments and documentation to support the unique learning needs of children using formal and informal measures

communicate and interpret results to team members

provide recommendations for universal, targeted and specialized services based on data gathered

prepare written assessment reports when required

support teachers and parents to implement strategies effectively

collaborate to provide school and system level professional development to build system capacity around supporting children and students’ OT and sensory needs

provide teachers with classroom-based supports based on individual and group needs

supervise Occupational Therapy assistants

work closely with school-based therapy assistants to ensure ongoing treatment for students requiring targeted and specialized services

collaborate with district support services team to provide effective ongoing supports to schools

work collaboratively with therapists from multiple service providers

Education and Certifications:

Bachelors or master’s degree in occupational therapy or equivalent from an accredited University Program

Registered member with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) and current professional liability insurance

Previous school-based collaborative work considered an asset

Previous experience with early intervention/pediatric services would be an asset

Successful applicants will be required to submit before start date:

Current Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)

Original document reported within the last 6 months of hire date; condition of employment

* Applicants cannot work before a clear CRC with VSC has been provided and approved*

Valid class 5 driving license

Access to a vehicle and able to provide a clean drivers abstract upon request
