Summary:
This position is ideal for creative and enthusiastic teachers who enjoy learning and value the flexibility of an individualized approach to education from a Christian perspective. Home Learning Support Teachers work mostly from home while overseeing students who learn from home.
Applicants should be elementary specialists, comfortable with all aspects of grades K-7 and should enjoy researching resource options that support varied learning styles.
Applicants must be comfortable communicating with families and learners through online learning management systems and through in-person and Zoom visits (3 times a year) with learners and families.
Strong organizational skills are an asset.
Applicants are encouraged to consider teaching in our in-person & virtual classes in addition to working as a Home Learning Support Teacher.
Remuneration range: $47,808 - $77,486 for a full-time position, dependent on category of certification and years of applicable prior experience.
EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:
All Home Learning Support Teachers (HLSTs) must be certified by the B.C. Teachers Regulation Branch or the Office of the Inspector of Independent Schools. HLSTs must also be Christian and must agree with RCOA’s statement of faith.
EXPERIENCE:?
Experience and education related to working with students in online learning is an asset but not required.
