THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a dynamic and skilled human resources professional to join a collaborative, mutually supportive and service-oriented team on a 14-month contract. Reporting to the Head, Talent Management, the Associate Director, Human Resources brings expertise and leadership to the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of integrated and comprehensive human resources activities that support Branksome Hall’s strategic priorities, mission, vision and values.

In an innovative educational environment with 230+ employees, The Associate Director provides leadership to a full range of human resources services including recruitment and selection, HR administration and systems management, employee relations, coaching, health and safety and policies and procedures.

With a strong customer service orientation the Associate Director identifies emerging trends and patterns within the employee community and identifies opportunities for continued employee engagement and wellbeing.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

Provide leadership to and participate in the staffing and hiring process from assessment position needs to employee onboarding;

Provide expertise and advise managers on confidential, sensitive and complex employee and HR matters and in department planning and staffing;

Guide the development of job descriptions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with responsibilities;

Implement the school's salary policies, conduct job evaluations, and make salary recommendations;

Coach, advise and support leaders in the development of their teams, providing resources and sourcing growth opportunities;

Ensure timely administration and response to all employee communications, letters, notification of changes with respect to benefits, changes in employment conditions, approvals for leave of absences, etc. in collaboration with the HR Coordinator;

Collaborate with the Centre for Strategic Leadership in supporting the development of leadership programs;

Monitor, track and prepare reports related to human resources activities and systems for the leadership team;

Provide oversight for all changes and updates to employee database;

Participate in school-wide projects ensuring the HR implications are represented and managed effectively and in keeping with the school’s culture and values.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experienced human resources professional with 6+ years of progressive experience including management experience;

Degree or certification in Human Resources, with CHRL designation as an asset;

Skilled collaborator and leader engaging with diverse stakeholders;

Ability to build strong relationships;

Able to manage complex and competing priorities;

Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, to manage sensitive situations;

Committed to strong employee engagement, development and excellence;

Proficient in MS Office applications, Google Suites, and ADP WorkforceNow is an asset.

Target Hiring Range: $90,600 - $113,200
