Job Summary

The Key Account Manager will serve as the primary sales representative with a specific focus on Specialty Chains and Specialty Pharmacies in Quebec. This pivotal role is responsible for maintaining and expanding our client base within these segments with a primary focus on achieving assigned sales targets related to generics and specialty medicines; and is also responsible in collaborating with Retail and Corporate account leads to support their management of pharmacy customers with Specialty Operations

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage sales and day-to-day relationships with assigned customer groups.
    • Developing, maintaining and communicating a formal account strategies and portfolio of key growth opportunities
    • Responsible for the profits and losses of assigned accounts
    • Completes strategic customer account planing that meet company standards.
    • Proactive identification and communication of the customer's short term and long term strategic objectives, and validation of customer needs on an ongoing basis.
    • Leading on-going communication and meetings between the Apotex leadership team and the account's senior management team, to foster customer intimacy and ensure the client is aware of Apotex’ range of capabilities, successful track record, and long term commitment to the clients' priorities;
    • Proactive and timely identification of the account developments or requests and the communication and ongoing discovery of new service/solution opportunities;
    • Representing the voice of customer to the Apotex senior leadership team on important/urgent issues;
    • Building customer intimacy with the key senior level functional areas within the account;
    • Meets assigned sales and volume targets for assigned accounts and territory
    • Achieves both financial and non-financial objectives for accounts and territory.
    • Involves and coordinates necessary Apotex personnel to support achievement of customer needs while meeting performance objectives.
  • Represents Apotex at events, conventions, shows, and entertainment outings, and alike as assigned.
  • Channels information to office (Key Accounts, Marketing, Professional Services, Sales Directors) regarding any relevant marketplace issues, including customer concerns, lost/gained-business, or competitive pricing.
  • Keeps abreast of new industry developments and company products and explains them to customers.
  • Ownership of the complete Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for the assigned territory, demonstrating financial acumen and strategic thinking to optimize OPEX budget and sales performance.
  • Utilizes our SFE/CRM technology to enter and maintain all necessary and relevant account information.
  • Develops robust annual business plans and strategic objectives for the assigned territory and customers.
  • Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

  • Ensure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.

Job Requirements
  • Education
    • University degree in business or sciences, or equivalent business experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to relate to and meet customer needs
    • Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills
    • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and Apotex products
    • Ability to skilfully negotiate with stakeholders, to the benefit of the corporation.
    • Valid drivers license.
    • Bilingual(English & French).
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years successful professional sales experience (preferably in pharmaceuticals).
